I’ve always had a great respect for our military, and those who serve, that’s why I joined the Marines and why I support veteran causes. What I didn’t understand prior to serving, was the meaning of the connections that would form. For the brothers and sisters I served with it wasn’t about advancement or ego, it was about the team, sharing a mission and a purpose, together. That creates a bond that's hard to explain, even to those closest to you who have known you your entire life. It's an amazing thing to experience, but it can also be very isolating. If you're not actively in service, the loss of those connections can easily make you feel like you are all alone in the world.
I took some time to reflect on that, the influence that was having in my life, and what it might be like for the people I served with. I had to face some uncomfortable memories, memories centered on one person I served with in particular. He was a friend who took his own life. It was a shock to his family and friends of course, but I was also aware of how uncommon it was. Too many vets struggle to find their way, to get the help they need, to fill in the cracks that formed because they served.
I decided that I would use my business to provide others who served with a mission and a team to rely on. We wouldn’t just give back financially, we would also give back in the form of opportunity. And so we have designed our organization to create employment and profit sharing opportunities for the veteran and first responder communities and their families. This means training, jobs, income, and even asset development. We are working to re-establish the bonds, create mission and purpose, and give a path to those who served so they can continue serving. From our project management to account support, from our revenue sharing partners to our agents, we recruit from the military and first responder communities first. In the end it feels good to do good, and as confusing and uncertain as our world is, one step in the right direction is the best possible path you can offer or take for yourself.
Thank you for taking the time to learn about some of the why behind what we do.
Sincerely,
Rob
